Pre-Meet Dinner @ Coach Kuhn's House
The Thursday before the team's dual meet versus Cal Lutheran, the team got together at Coach Kuhn's house for a pre-meet dinner of salad, chicken, penne & marinara sauce. A great time by everyone and a nice little break from getting back to studying! Check out some of the pictures below.

Ted Mullin Hour of Power

That was the motto of the team on Tuesday, November 11th, for exactly 1 hour starting at 5pm, the team swam a straight relay, non-stop, to support cancer research at the Univ. of Chicago.
Ted Mullin, a former Carleton swimmer, passed away in 2006 from synovial sarcoma, a rare form of soft tissue cancer. From coach's actually having met Ted, he was the true definition of the student-athlete.
We were proud to be a part of such a great event. Not only did we hope to raise awareness and funds to further research, but it's always a great time to step back and be grateful that we get to compete in such an amazing sport. I know the team enjoyed the event and yes, they swam exactly one hour straight. We look forward to being a part of the event next year and if you are interest in supporting this cause, email Coach Kuhn.

Meet Izzy Mayer!!
Welcome to "A Day in the Life of a Swimmer". This being the first swimmer entry, I will hopefully not disappoint. I will confess that now swimming has started, my life pretty much revolves around swimming, eating, sleeping, and studying. In general, my highlights are meals and nighttime when I can sit around talking (and eating) with my friends. So far, I can say classes are tough, but interesting! Hope you enjoy the pictures (and see you on campus)!

Alums Can't Get Enough!
There is no question we love our alumni to stay in touch. We love it even more when they continue to compete and swim beyond their college days. Two Alums (Mike Wade and Michael Wong) recently swam in the La Jolla Rough Water Swim. With over 350 competitors, both Mike's swam to impressive finishes.

Mike Wade '09 (Left) swam both the 1 mile and 3 mile event. In the 1 mile, he place 7th overall and 1st in his age group (19-24). Michael Wong '09 finished 44th overall and 12th in the same age group. Keep on swimming and the Oxy Swimming & Diving Family is proud of you!

Football Concessions!!!
On Saturday, September 19th, the football team was not the only team working hard. Over 30 of the Oxy Swimmer and Divers worked the football concession stands. While raising funds was great, they really had fun hanging out with each other. Check out the pictures below!

Beach Day!!!
In the words of captain Sara Mendoza...
Beach day was a success! We all met at the Athletics building Sunday morning and drove to Manhattan beach. Don't blame me, but the car of upperclassmen (myself included) managed to get lost. Fortunately, we all made it there in one piece. It was a little chilly at first, , but the sky cleared up and it was gorgeous. Mostly everyone got tossed around in the huge waves that day and the rest of us watched from the non-threatening sand. Overall, it was a good day of relaxation, which we all needed. Nothing beats the Sunday blues like a trip to the beach!

BBQ!
Everyone got together tonight for the first team "meeting", heck, we'll just call it what it was, a BBQ. The best news...Coach didn't burn any burgers or hot dogs.
It was a great opportunity for the upperclassmen to welcome the rookies to the Oxy Swimming & Diving Family. This may be the only time of the year they are not stressing about academics, and with free food, there were smiles everyone. Check out the pictures!

New Assistant Coach
I want to take this opportunity to introduce our new assistant coach, Sean Warlick. A midwesterner at heart, he comes all the way to California from Iowa, where he grew up and went to college. After countless hours of meetings already, he is going to be a great addition to the Oxy Swimming & Diving Family.
