CANCER SUCKS!!!That was the motto of the team on Tuesday, November 11th, for exactly 1 hour starting at 5pm, the team swam a straight relay, non-stop, to support cancer research at the Univ. of Chicago.
Ted Mullin, a former Carleton swimmer, passed away in 2006 from synovial sarcoma, a rare form of soft tissue cancer. From coach's actually having met Ted, he was the true definition of the student-athlete.
We were proud to be a part of such a great event. Not only did we hope to raise awareness and funds to further research, but it's always a great time to step back and be grateful that we get to compete in such an amazing sport. I know the team enjoyed the event and yes, they swam exactly one hour straight. We look forward to being a part of the event next year and if you are interest in supporting this cause, email Coach Kuhn.
